Business English

Conducting business in English can be a difficult task for most second language learners.

Students not only need general communication skills, but also must understand business vocabulary, expressions, and situational nuances.

Communication

It’s important to get your students speaking as much as possible. Sometimes we have so much to teach that we forget the importance of communication.

Ultimately, your students will have to communicate to sell their products, give presentations, and answer questions.

Make sure your students stand up, move around, and change partners often. They need to interact with as many people as possible to keep the lessons interesting and authentic.

For Business English classes, I organize each lesson the same way. Students appreciate consistency and look forward to each part of the lesson.

  1. Small Talk
  2. Review
  3. Conversation Skills
